Wagon defrosting systems with gas IR radiant heaters

The GoGaS wagon defrosting system with gas infrared radiators and underfloor burners has proven to be one of the most cost-effective methods for defrosting wagons. Natural gas or liquid gas is used as heating energy. Three gas infrared heaters are housed in a "cabinet", which can be closed with a door to protect against mechanical damage when the system is not in operation. When open, this door also serves as a windbreak, thereby increasing the efficiency of the system. Cabinets on both sides of the track form the side heating for the wagons.

A major advantage of the system is that in many cases there is no need for a costly defrosting hall. As the standard clearance profile is maintained, the safety of the operating personnel is guaranteed.

The appropriate number of side heating cabinets is installed on each side to match the length of the wagon in order to guarantee targeted and energy-efficient defrosting.

This system is completed by special underfloor burners, which are installed between the rails. The heat transfer from the underfloor burners to the wagon semitrailer floor is largely by convection (hot flue gases). This type of system is available as a free-standing and covered version.

GoGaS wagon defrosting systems are available with:

  • Gas infrared radiant heaters (optionally light or dark radiant heaters) as side heating and special burners as bottom heating
  • Electric infrared radiant heaters as side heating and special burners as bottom heating
  • Hot air heating
