The halls of the Unna aluminum plant are used for a wide variety of work processes. These include a foundry, a press shop, a dispatch hall and state-of-the-art testing facilities. In addition to newly constructed buildings, there are also halls that are over a hundred years old.
Heating was originally provided by a hot air system. The system has been successively renewed since 2004. Due to the different uses and construction methods of the halls, the requirements for the new heating system were diverse.
In close cooperation with the customer ALUnna, we found the optimum solution:
78 bright radiators and 30 dark radiators have now been installed, most of which are equipped with the TRIGOMAX® condensing gas exchanger. 24,820 m² of the hall area has been modernized with GoGaS appliances and more are already planned.
The comprehensive refurbishment measures at the aluminum plant have resulted in energy savings of over 50 %. This figure can be verified at any time via the company's certified energy management system.

“I am very satisfied with the switch to the innovative heating system from GoGaS. The dark radiators with condensing boiler technology heat our production hall, which is over a hundred years old, reliably and above all extremely efficiently. Due to the great height of the hall, gas infrared bright radiators are installed in the pipe pulling hall. These guarantee the temperature of 17 to 18 °C that we require in the work areas, even at outside temperatures of up to minus 12 °C. An investment that definitely pays off.”
