Ølen Betong

Refurbishment of a production hall - heating with infrared radiation technology

The Norwegian producer Ølen Betong mixes different types of concrete with different performance characteristics and therefore also different treatment and curing times. Each type requires a certain temperature to start the curing process. Ølen Betong, for example, uses electrically heated concrete molds as the last production step before the concrete can be delivered or stored. But that's not enough: room heating also plays an important role in keeping the ambient temperature of the concrete molds constant. And this is where GoGaS comes into play.

When the doors of the production hall in Haugesund (Norway) are open, cold air flows directly into the area where the concrete elements are placed in the electrically heated devices for curing. To prevent a sudden drop in temperature, Ølen Betong has installed several GoGaS high-performance M 24 radiators in one of the halls. These keep the temperature constant and thus ensure the quality of the concrete elements.

The same technology is also used in one of the older halls, where the high-performance radiators also play a more advanced role. There, the radiant heat from the GoGaS high-performance radiators helps the concrete to reach its curing temperature more quickly, thereby speeding up the production process. Gas infrared heaters from GoGaS ensure constant radiant heat and thus accelerate the process. The high-performance emitters convert most of the gas used into radiant energy, which only releases its energy in the form of heat when it hits the concrete elements. This eliminates the problem of the penetrating cold air cooling the concrete and the concrete elements dry constantly and without delay.

At the same time, energy costs are kept to a minimum thanks to the highly efficient gas infrared emitters, as they are only used where the heat is needed.
